61. Daguerreotype of man in suit. 1/6 Scovills plate. "Scovills" hallmark from the late 1840's. Original paper tape (cut on three sides) on back of mat sandwich. No brass preserver around image packet. Octagonal mat, sandy finish, popular throughout the 1840's but seldom used after 1850. Case is common leather on wood frame style with embossed geometric design. Broken catch on case. Modern black tape repaired spine on case. Red velvet inside case.

62. Daguerreotype of man in suit. Lightly hand tinted pink cheeks and white / blue shirt. 1/6 plate. Original paper tape (loose on four sides) on back of mat sandwich. No brass preserver around image packet. Unusual scallop mat, sandy finish, produced during the late 1840's, in use until about 1851. Broken half case is "common", leather on wood frame style with embossed floral design.

63. Daguerreotype of young woman in print dress wearing pearl necklace. 1/6 Gaudin plate. Cross and sheep? Lion?, A. Gaudin, France, hallmark, popular plate used during the early 1850's. Partial top and bottom broken preserver around image packet. Octagonal mat, sandy finish, popular throughout the 1840's but seldom used after 1850. Broken half case is "common", leather on wood frame with embossed geometric design.

64. Daguerreotype of young woman in print dress wearing brooch and bracelet. 1/9 plate. No case. Brass preserver, mat, and glass around image. Double elliptical mat with stamped ornamentation. Double elliptical mat started production in mid 1840's, in use until about 1850 after which mats were produced exclusively in matte, often with stamped or engraved ornamentation.
